a wanderer drove

the open road,

stopped at a gas station,

pissed, grabbed a coke,

a log of chew,

salted corn something,

and got back on the road.

he drove until

the fuel pump chapped

dry in the deserts

outside las vegas,

where human suns

broke the sky

again    again    again,

until mormon women

believed breast cancer

divine.
